Music Theater Works’ new revue Duke Ellington’s Greatest Hits features plenty of jazz standards like “Mood Indigo” and “Sophisticated Lady” composed by the late esteemed American title composer. But also be on the lookout for other numbers like “Take the ‘A’ Train” and “Lush Life” composed by Ellington’s late and openly gay songwriter friend Billy Strayhorn, too. Duke Ellington’s Greatest Hits plays Oct. 6-15, at Northwestern University’s Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston. Tickets are $34-$64; call 847-920-5360 or visit MusicTheaterWorks.com.
