An OUTAging community gathering will take place Friday, Aug. 24, 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the John Baran Hall of Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.

Pride Action Tank will report on findings the OUTAging Committee has garnered, and will discuss the next steps.

Among other events, there will be a panel discussion entitled “The Need for Culturally Competent Care for LGBTQ+ Older Adults.” Speakers will include Center on Halsted Senior Services Director Britta Larson, AARP Associate State Director of Community Organizing Terri Worman, Center on Addison community member Don Bell and Howard Brown Health Program Manger of Intensive Community Services Kelly Rice. Affinity Community Services Executive Director Imani Rupert-Gordon and Pride Action Tank’s Anthony Guerrero will moderate.

There will also be a discussion about models for culturally competent care with SAGE Director of National Field Initiatives Serena Worthington, and there will be breakout discussions.
