The Chicago Public Library Foundation (CPLF) announced that Brenda Langstraat is its new president.

Langstraat comes to the Library Foundation after seven years as CEO of Working in the Schools (WITS). WITS is the largest literacy organization that collaborates with Chicago Public Schools (CPS), providing nearly 1,400 volunteer mentor/tutors in the schools.

Established in 1986 as an independent, nonprofit organization, the CPLF is dedicated to “enriching the collections, programs, and technology initiatives of the Library,” per a press release.
