Preservation Chicago has released its 2019 Chicago 7 Most Endangered buildings list, covering some of the most vulnerable sites.

“This year’s threats were so extensive, we had to add a +2,” said Preservation Chicago Executive Director Ward Miller.

The buildings include Jackson Park, South Shore Cultural Center and Midway Plaisance; Laramie State Bank; Seven Continents/Rotunda Building at O’Hare Airport; The Loretto Academy; The Crawford Power Station; The Second Church of Christ Scientist Building; The Hammer/Palmer Mansion; The James R. Thompson Center/State of Illinois; and Roman Catholic churches throughout Chicago.

Preservation Chicago, a non-profit organization founded in 2001, works with local residents, business owners and stakeholders to protect and revitalize Chicago’s irreplaceable architecture, neighborhoods and urban spaces.
