The Center for Disability & Elder Law (CDEL) has announced the launch of Proud to Thrive—a program that provides legal resources for low-income LGBT elders throughout Cook County at mobile legal clinics and advance directive workshops.
To celebrate the start of the program, Proud to Thrive—along with the Mentorship Program of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago (LAGBAC) and Pride Action Tank—will host an LGBT elder cultural responsiveness and advance directive training for legal professionals Wed., Nov. 20, 4-6:30 p.m., at Clark Hill PLC, One Prudential Plaza, 130 E. Randolph St., #3900.
CDEL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the legal rights of low-income senior citizens and persons with disabilities in Cook County since 1984. CDEL offers assistance with several types of civil legal matters, representing and providing support to hundreds of clients each year.
