Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison and the American Association of Retired Asians (AARA) launched “Everyone Deserves to be Counted,” a series of video PSAs in six different languages—Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, Korean, Polish and Spanish—that will urge residents to complete the 2020 Census.

The first video in Gujarati premiered on Commissioner Morrison’s social-media pages—including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube—and the other five videos will be shared on social media over the next few weeks.

Amid the disruption in census activities due to COVID-19, many government and community organizations are relying more on digital strategies including PSAs, videos, and social media to talk to communities about the importance of completing the census and alleviate the anxiety that many feel about sharing their information.

Morrison and the AARA collaborated on the “Everyone Deserves to be Counted” PSAs to reach communities in the 15th District that have been historically undercounted and have limited English proficiency.
