Second Stage Theater’s Tony-winning revival of Take Me Out is coming back to Broadway, The Hollywood Reporter noted. Winner of best revival of a play at the 2022 Tonys, the story about how a team and the world respond to a fictional major league baseball player coming out will return for a second limited run at the Schoenfeld Theatre, opening on Oct. 27. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jesse Williams will reprise their roles in the play, written by Richard Greenberg and directed by Scott Ellis.
Season two of the FX show Feud has added Tom Hollander, Diane Lane and Calista Flockhart to its cast, Variety confirmed. The trio join previously announced series stars Naomi Watts and Chloe Sevigny. The second season of the Ryan Murphy anthology series will tell the true story of how Truman Capote (to be played by Hollander) was friends with numerous members of New York high society until he published excerpts of his unfinished novel Answered Prayers,—with the excerpts telling all about the city’s elite. Watts will play famed socialite Barbara “Babe” Paley, while Sevigny will play C.Z. Guest; Lane will play Nancy “Slim” Keith and Flockhart will be Lee Radziwill.
The Boulet Brothers announced a multi-project production deal with AMC Networks’ horror-centric streaming service, Shudder, to expand the Dragula franchise, Out Magazine noted. The deal includes “a new season, a new spinoff series and an additional special set” of episodes from The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula. All three projects are scheduled to premiere within the next 12 months.
Canadian electro-pop artist Riotron (aka Jeff Fettes) joins forces with the queen of bounce music, Big Freedia, to release the new video for their song, “Drop a Bomb,” per a press release. Fettes reached out to mutual friends to ask if Freedia would join him on the song, thinking Freedia’s style would be an interesting contrast to his. The video for “Drop A Bomb” is a vivid piece by Alex Salyer (who’s worked with Miley Cyrus and Trixie Mattel, among others) in which the artists are uniquely portrayed in cartoon form. During an interview with People Magazine’s Every Day podcast, R&B star Tevin Campbell—best known for his classic ’90s tracks like “Can We Talk” and “I’m Ready”—confirmed his sexuality, according to Out Magazine. “When I came out to my family and friends [at] about 19 or 20, that was it for me,” Campbelll, 45, told People about coming out to those closest to him in life years ago. “And then I went on the road of discovering myself. I didn’t know who I was.” He added, “What makes me happiest right now is how far I’ve come in life. You know, there are a lot of child stars that don’t make it. But a lot of us do, and the fact that I’ve embraced me.”

Showtime has picked up the hit drama series The Chi for a sixth season, a press release announced. Created and executive-produced by LGBTQ Emmy winner Lena Waithe and executive-produced by Academy Award and Emmy winner Common, the show is described as “a timely coming-of-age story centering on a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption.” Season five’s cast includes Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, Luke James and Curtiss Cook.
VH1 officially announced that season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and a new season of Untucked will be unveiled in 2023, per Out Magazine. This season of Drag Race will feature the 200th episode in the series—a landmark achievement for a show made by queer people and centered around LGBTQ+ contestants. This latest news followed RuPaul’s Drag Race being nominated for 11 Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022.

Taylor Swift will be recognized for her contributions to songwriting at the upcoming Nashville Songwriter Awards, iHeart noted, citing The Tennessean. The ceremony will be held at the Ryman Auditorium on Sept. 20. Hulu released first look images from its eight-episode original comedy series Reboot, from Emmy-winning co-creator Steven Levitan (Modern Family). The series—starring Keegan-Michael Key, Judy Greer, Johnny Knoxville, Paul Reiser, Rachel Bloom, Calum Worthy and Krista Marie Yu—will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday, Sept. 20, with two episodes, with new episodes streaming weekly. The show’s synopsis is that Hulu reboots an early 2000s family sitcom, forcing its dysfunctional cast back together; now they must deal with their unresolved issues in today’s world.
New ripped-from-the-headlines films are planned for Lifetime in October that star Kellie Martin (Army Wives), Colton Haynes (Arrow) and more, Deadline noted. For example, airing Saturday, Oct. 22, Swindler Seduction features out actor Haynes in a dual role playing crooked twin brothers. The inspired-by-true events thriller exposes the world of the romantic con artists, i.e. men who earn their living off women who they fool and steal from.
ABC show Shark Tank is adding two new guest Sharks for its 14th season, per a press release. Gwyneth Paltrow, CEO and founder of goop, and Tony Xu, CEO of and co-founder of DoorDash, are set to appear alongside long-standing Sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary as well as other guest Sharks in various episodes. Shark Tank premieres with a special live episode Friday, Sept. 23; episodes will air on Hulu the following day.
Team USA soccer stars Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger announced that they’ve adopted a new baby boy, per Out Magazine. The child, named Ocean Maeve Krieger-Harris, will join a family that already included a baby daughter. “My wife and I are excited to share that we have adopted a baby boy,” Harris wrote on Instagram. “Our hearts are full during this time and we are so grateful for the love and support our family, friends and club have shown.”
The stars of Sex Education are back, with filming of the fourth season of Sex Education officially underway, Netflix announced. This time they are joined by Emmy-winning actor and Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, playing Thomas Molloy, a famous author and Maeve’s U.S. course tutor at her Ivy League college. Returning cast members include Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Chinenye Ezeudu and others. Filming is currently underway in Wales until 2023.
Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) is joining the second season of Yellowjackets in a season-long guest arc, per a press release. Wood will play Walter, a dedicated citizen detective who will challenge Misty in ways she won’t see coming. Yellowjackets—which recently was honored with GALECA’s Dorian TV Awards—stars Emmy nominee and Critics Choice Award winner Melanie Lynskey, Oscar and Emmy nominee Juliette Lewis, Emmy nominee Christina Ricci and Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable). Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to join Margot Robbie in the Ocean’s Eleven reboot for Warner Bros., The Hollywood Reporter noted. Details on the script by Carrie Solomon are being kept under wraps, but it is known to be an original Ocean’s Eleven tale that is set in Europe in the 1960s.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner said that actress Anne Heche, 53, died from “smoke inhalation and thermal injuries,” Deadline noted, citing People. The report cited a “sternal fracture due to blunt trauma” as another “significant condition” contributing to her passing. Heche sustained the injuries when her car jumped a curb and crashed into a house.
After much speculation, the subjects of an anonymous 2016 lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleges being assaulted by her “then-husband” on a private plane have been revealed as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Variety noted. Several years ago Jolie told an FBI agent that Pitt “physically and verbally assaulted” her and their children when they were aboard the plane. Pitt’s team has denied all accusations and no charges have been filed against him.

Brown, 18, is studying human services, where “you learn about the system and how to help young people,” according to Allure. There are many Indiana references throughout her show, including some to Purdue and other universities in the state.
