Singer Aaron Carter—the brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter—has died after apparently drowning at his L.A. home at age 34, according to media reports.

TMZ originally reported the news. The outlet said that he was found in his bathtub.

In recent years, Carter discussed his mental health and addiction to drugs.

Aaron Carter was a pop icon in the early 2000s with hit songs like “I Want Candy,” “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq.”

In 2017, he came out as bisexual on Twitter. However, he later told Hollywood Life that ultimately saw himself “being with a woman and having kids,” according to People Magazine, adding, “I can find men and women attractive, but when it comes down to it, I think it was a little misconstrued.”

He is survived by his son, Prince.
