E. Patrick Johnson, dean of the School of Communication and Annenberg University Professor of Performance Studies at Northwestern University, was recognized by HRC Chicago at its 2022 gathering Nov. 12 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel

The organization also highlighted a number of local advocacy organizations at the event, among them Brave Space Alliance, Chicago Therapy Collective, From Our Hearts Chicago, Life is Work and Pinta Pride (a.k.a., Buffalo Pride Club).

Additional participants included HRC Interim President Joni Madison, singer/activist Shea Diamond and comedian Dana Goldberg. Among the politicians who attended were Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County Board Commissioner Kevin Morrison.
