Despite multiple close attempts, the Chicago Red Stars couldn’t find the equalizer to walk away with points and fell 2-1 to New Jersey/New York Gotham FC on May 7.
Brazilian national Julia Bianchi connected with forward Ella Stevens to notch Chicago’s only goal. It was Stevens’ second goal of the regular season.
Of note was that Yuki Nagasato’s start was the midfielder’s 100th regular-season appearance in the NWSL. Nagasato now has 79 regular season appearances with Chicago.
Chicago will next take on Racing Louisville FC on Friday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. CT at Lynn Family Stadium.
