On Dec. 3, John Fleming and Madman Productions presented the 14th annual STRUT fashion show at Joe’s on Weed Street, 940 W. Weed St.
As in previous years, the standing room only show was a fundraiser, with this year’s recipients being Project VIDA and Chicago Women’s AIDS Project.
The show featured Bryant McLemore Smith and Bronzeville Boutique, along with designs from Mark Clayton, Adreain Guillory, Will White, Lauren Glowacki, Boss Formal Wear, Maria Varela, Misfits and Mischief, Parker Smith Design, Iridium 77 Lab, Sophia Izquierdo, Amy Verriu and Iyomi. John Schneider, MD, of The University of Chicago Medicine and Chamille T. Johnson served as speakers with designer Varela acting as emcee.
DJ Lil’ John provided the beats. The event was sponsored by Cook County Health, Alivo Medical Center, Napo Pharmaceuticals, Chicago Department of Public Health, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, hicago Center for HIV Elimination and Southside Help Center.
