On May 4, The Windy City Imperial Court of Chicago hosted its 22nd Annual Kentucky Derby Affair at Charlie’s, 3726 N. Broadway.
Members of the statewide monarchy joined supporters for an afternoon of horse-racing, fundraising and prizes. This year the Court raised funds for Groceryland and Pride of Joliet Network.
The Imperial Court of Chicago is part of a network of over 70 Imperial Courts in North America, Mexico and Canada. The organization’s past beneficiaries have included Gerber/Hart Library and Archives, American Cancer Society, the Kidney Foundation and various HIV/AIDS and mental health organizations. The next benefit, Leather and Lace, takes place May 9 at Charlies.
