On May 19, the Chicago Red Stars lost their first match on the road, 2-1, to New Jersey/New York Gotham FC.

Penelope Hocking scored the Red Stars’ only goal in the 74th minute, making this her third goal in as many matches.

Also, the match marked Mackenzie Wood’s first regular-season start. The goalkeeper started a match for the Red Stars last year in a friendly against the Mexican Women’s National Team.

The Chicago Red Stars have scored in each of the last four matches, scoring eight goals in that run.

Chicago will next face Racing Louisville FC on May 25 at 6:30 p.m. CT at SeatGeek Stadium.
