The Chicago Sky defeated the Dallas Wings, 83-74, on May 18 for the team’s first victory of the 2024 regular season. 

The win marked new head coach Teresa Weatherspoon’s first career head coaching win in the WNBA. With the victory, the Sky moved to 1-1 on the season and 17-8 in total against the Wings (since moving to Dallas) and 26-26 against the franchise all time (including Detroit and Tulsa).

Diamond DeShields led the Sky in scoring with 16 points in 24 minutes, also recording five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals. Elizabeth Williams had a career game in the win, tying her career high of five steals in the victory to go along with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double, three assists and five blocks; with the 10 grabs, Williams passed Tangela Smith (658) for 21st on the WNBA’s all time offensive rebounds list, with 663.

The Sky stay on the road and travel to New York to take on the Liberty on Thursday, May 23; the Liberty have already defeated the Indiana Fever (and Caitlin Clark) twice.
