Jeffrey Scott Giles, 60, of Arlington Heights—and formerly of Chicago’s Rogers Park, Anderson, Lake View and Austin neighborhoods—passed away unexpectedly (after a perfectly normal day shopping for a new car and making dinner) on Feb. 10.

Born in Chicago, Jeff was very proud of his family’s Southern roots. Jeff worked for many years in marketing research and day trading. He loved Donna Summer and could sing all the lyrics to “Lush Life”. He loved watching “Mysteries at the Museum” and other educational TV, including the Weather Channel.
Jeff was intrigued and excited by life’s simple pleasures – Mother Nature, his garden, tracking weather, birds and their unique calls and growing tomatoes on his back porch. He was a Democrat who volunteered for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and was an excellent cook who truly enjoyed the science of baking.
Beloved husband of George Levin for 12 years, loving brother of Joe, dear uncle of Dalton. Dearest brother-in-law of Denise Lara and son-in-law of Eunice (the late Manny) Levin. Cherished nephew of Phyllis (Sam) Canerday. He leaves behind three dogs Roscoe the dachshund/corgi, Russell the dachshund/min-pin, and Riley the chihuahua.
A celebration of life is being held Saturday, June 22 from 1-4p.m., at Coletti’s, 5707 N. Central Ave. Arrangements by Inclusive Funeral Care, 773-370-2959 or www.InclusiveFuneralCare.com.
