This is a last-minute switch for the event, which had until this week been slated for Sunday, June 30 in the hours leading up to the 2024 Chicago Pride Parade.
The organization posted to social media that, “Due to various permitting concerns surrounding the Parade and security resource needs, Proud to Run has been moved to Saturday, June 29th. Same time different day.
“While we are not happy to have to make this big of a change this close to the race date, the alternatives were far more disruptive. Moving to Saturday will allow for the full race to be maintained at Montrose (and on the date we have always wanted).”
A number of logistical difficulties resulted in the race’s cancellation in 2023. Proud to Run has traditionally occurred the Saturday morning of Pride Weekend in Chicago.
