Center on Halsted’s Inclusive Futures Leadership Institute provides an affirming and inclusive leadership and professional development opportunity for emerging leaders
CHICAGO, IL – Applications are now open for the Center on Halsted’s (COH) inaugural Inclusive Futures Leadership Institute (IFLI) cohort. Center on Halsted deepens its investments in community-building and in supporting the overall health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people across Chicagoland through the IFLI initiative. The upcoming IFLI cohort will start in November 2024 and end in May 2025. It will feature monthly sessions on key topics including leadership skills, goal planning, finance, allyship and inclusion, communications, and corporate social responsibility.
One of Center on Halsted’s focus areas has been to serve as an incubator for smaller LGBTQ+ non- profit organizations through operational support, physical meeting space, and a variety of other resources. The IFLI is one way the Center is expanding this work to serve as a conduit for learning and professional development for individuals.
“We could not do this work without our amazing community partners. The Inclusive Futures Leadership Institute gives us an opportunity to leverage the strengths, talents, knowledge, and expertise of our diverse LGBTQ+ community to be facilitators and expert panelists that will discuss a wide range of timely and professionally relevant topics with our incoming cohort of leaders,” said Joli Robinson, CEO at Center on Halsted. “This is just one of our many initiatives that embodies our vision of supporting a thriving LGBTQ+ community.”
Spearheading this unique opportunity is Patrick Ryan, Chief of Staff at Center on Halsted, he notes that, “The Inclusive Futures Leadership Institute is all about creating a space where LGBTQ+ leaders can embrace who they are, develop their voice, and drive meaningful change. We’re building a future where everyone’s identity is celebrated and their potential fully realized.”
Center on Halsted continues to provide a vast array of programs and services that have been the bedrock of their 50+ year history, with its original roots in the organization known as Gay Horizons.
COH continues its service to the community through the following programs: Youth Programming, Behavioral Health, Pride in Aging (55+), Silver Fork job readiness program, HIV/STI Testing and Prevention, and HUB/Hotline. Inclusive Futures Leadership Institute Program Overview:
