The 21st Annual Dream Girl Continental Plus Pageant was held in front of a standing room only crowd packed into the Baton Show Lounge, 4713 N. Broadway on Monday, Oct. 21.

The sold-out event featured both a lineup of past pageant winners who offered a variety of performances, along with four contestants who competed in evening-wear, talent and swimwear categories.

The evening reached a high point when each contestant participated in a question-and-answer segment. Contestants Krystal Cassadine, Latoya Iman, Caj Monet and Veronica Deveraux competed for cash prizes and the preliminary title of Ms. Dream GIrl Continental with Iman taking the top prize. Performers Kofi and Alvion Arnell Davenport served as co-emcees with added support from show producer Antonio King.

The pageant itself featured a virtual army of performers traveling from near and far to make the 2024 edition of Dream Girl an epic event.

There were performances from Raquell Lord, Tahjee Iman, Lee Ann Feathers, Amalia Black, Brittany Taylor, Dymond C. Calloway, J. Quin Valentino, Darrington Chilton, Erica Renee and co-hosts Davenport and Kofi. The biggest surprise of the night came with King’s streamlined version of the show which finished a good 30 minutes early and moved along smoothly and without interruption.
