The Chicago Sky opened its 2025 season with a 93-58 loss at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home of the Caitlin Clark-led Indiana Fever, on May 17, per a media release.

Angel Reese led the Sky in scoring with 12 points to go along with 17 rebounds, earning a double-double. Ariel Atkins made her Sky debut, scoring 11 points along with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

For Indiana, Clark opened the regular season with a triple-double, amassing 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and a career-high four blocks; in addition, Aliyah Boston recorded a 19-point, 13-rebound double-double for the Fever.

And the Reese-Clark conflict continued. According to ESPN, tempers flared when Clark fouled Reese in the third quarter, resulting in a flagrant foul for Clark. Boston, attempting to keep the two players apart, picked up a technical foul—but wasn’t aware of it until reporters asked her about it in a post-game interview.

ESPN noted that Clark is in just her second season and fellow top pick Boston is in her third—but the two have helped turn around the team. They combined with guard Kelsey Mitchell last year to get the Fever back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

The Sky head back to Chicago for the 2025 home opener against the defending champion New York Liberty on Thursday, May 22. Last season, the Sky went 1-3 against the eventual-champion Liberty.
