On June 14, Chicago Stars FC (1-8-3) split points with Seattle Reign FC (5-4-3), playing to a 2-2 draw at Soldier Field in the first leg of a Chicago soccer doubleheader with the Chicago Fire FC.

Brazilian star Ludmila put the Stars up early with two goals (a brace) scored just two minutes and 16 seconds apart, marking her second brace of 2025. However, the Reign scored twice within the last three minutes of regulation to force a tie.

Also, Chicago’s Sam Staab blocked a season-high three shots and matched her season-high clearances (nine).

The Chicago Stars next face off with the other Pacific Northwest NWSL club, Portland Thorns FC, on the road June 21 at 9 p.m. CT at Providence Park.

The Fire fell 2-0 to Nashville SC in the second half of the doubleheader. The 2-0 loss marked the first time the Fire were shut out since May 3, when they played to a 0-0 draw against Orlando City SC; it also marked the first shutout loss for Chicago since the last home match of the 2024 season, a 3-0 loss to Nashville.

The Fire will next face off against Philadelphia Union on Wed., June 25. The midweek match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and transmitted locally on wlsam.com (English) and Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App (Spanish).
