On June 16 Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St., held its 9th Annual Trans Ice Cream Social.
The popular event, which opened the doors for several members of the LGBTQ+ community, featured music, art making and plenty of ice cream from Jeni’s Ice Cream.
As the temperature outside edged past 85 degrees, the line for the start time quickly filled the third-floor foyer, snaking around the room twice. This year, guests indulged in Honey Vanilla Bean, Milkiest Chocolate, Texas Sheet Cake and Gooey Butter Cake ice cream. Sponsors for the event included Jeni’s Ice Cream, Accenture and Atlassian.
