According to Mathew Harvath, also known as CircuitMom, it’s a chance to celebrate, enliven cultural traditions, get together with friends and kick off the autumn season with a bang without the emotional burdens of grieving.
Aimed as an inaugural event, The Day of the Dead T-Party took place on Nov. 2 at Fantasy Nightclub with appropriate decor, a host of costumed dancers and DJs Janky and Joshua Ruiz spinning beats. Unlike CircuitMom’s All Hallows Eve events at Charlie’s (Oct. 23) and The House of Blues (Oct. 25) this event leaned toward celebration and less on the frights—without negating the Mexican flavor of the holiday. The Day of the Dead T Dance also marked the first time in over 12 years that CircuitMom productions had held an event at the space.
