It’s unlikely a vehicle dealership has had this kind of patronage—at least recently.

Hundreds of people went to Grossinger City Autoplex, 1550 N. Dayton St., on Oct. 5 as the fashion retailer Akira held its 12th Annual Fall Fashion Show.

Attendees enjoyed everything from small bites and drinks from businesses such as Umami Burger, neuro, SOCIAL Enjoyments, Municipal Bar + Dining Co. and 25 Degrees; to performances from BRICKHEADZ and Anna Dominguez; to DJs spinning dance tracks.

As for the runway event, more than two dozen male and female models strutted around a huge U-shaped runway while wearing everything from formalwear to sports apparel, with one model rocking a jockstrap at one point, getting the loudest reaction of the evening. James Maslow of Big Time Rush was slated to be a celebrity guest.

Afterward, a party was held at the chic restaurant Japonais.
