On Saturday, April 20, Friends of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame (GLHF) will hold its second Celebrity Bowl, at Waveland Bowl, 3700 N. Western Ave.
Registration is 10-11 a.m., bowling from 11 a.m. to noon, and wrap-up from noon to 1 p.m. Those who wish to participate in the bowl, by raising funds through securing pledges, or wish to receive additional information, contact event cooordinator Dick Uyvari at 773-769-5115.
The Celebrity Bowl itself is free and open to the public. There will be more than 20 celebrity bowlers, including Chuck Hyde, Michael Leppen, Mary Morten, Modesto “Tico” Valle and Terri Worman.
Friends of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, which annually holds an induction ceremony for new members of the Hall of Fame. Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT residents. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to deserving individuals and organizations, but also documents the LGBT communities’ heritage and diversity through its annual publication and its website, www.GLHallofFame.org.
