Busty broads with big behinds behind big bars; a maniac matron; a Joan Crawford warden; oysters; wax teeth; a snitch; a gimpy rat; knitting needles; a Carrot Top hairdo; and songs and dances, too! It’s gotta be a new musical by David Cerda and Hell in a Handbag Productions. Just as Patricia Kane’s Pulp (to be remounted this season by About Face Theatre) is a loving musical parody of 1950s lesbian fiction, so Caged Dames is Cerda’s engagingly trashy burlesque of 1950s broads in the Big House movies. The jailhouse rocks to I Had a Mink and Christmas in Prison. Caged Dames at Bailiwick Repertory, 1229 W. Belmont, through Nov. 19; 312-409-4357; $20.
