Radio legend Terri Hemmert has said she is cutting back on her workload at WXRT 93.1-FM—where she was been involved for 45 years, according to http://RobertFeder.com.
“After 45 years at WXRT, I’m going to figure out how to turn the record over and see what plays on the other side,” she emailed colleagues. “My doctor will be thrilled I’ll be getting eight hours of sleep a night. After all these years.”
She said she will continue to host her long-running “Breakfast with The Beatles” program on Sunday mornings, and will fill in other on-air personalities throughout the year while they are on vacation.
Hemmert, along with ABC 7 Chicago’s Janet Davies, hosts the Chicago Pride Parade every year that airs on that television station.
UPDATE: Hemmert has announced that her last day as a midday personality on WXRT 93.1-FM will be Tuesday, July 9.
