—Happy anniversary: On July 15-19, West Loop spot Proxi, 565 W. Randolph St., and Michelin-starred Sepia, 123 N. Jefferson St., will celebrate their seventh and 17th anniversaries, respectively.

Regarding Sepia, diners will be able to enjoy a $17 caviar dish paired with $17 glasses of Champagne. On July 18, Proxi is hosting an exclusive Armenian wine dinner ($165/ticket)hosted by Wine Director Alex Ring; Zimmerman and Jennifer Kim will present an internationally inspired family-style feast featuring global flavors that perfectly complement these unique wines.
—Happy anniversary, part two: Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille—with locations in Oak Brook, Schaumburg and Vernon Hills—is celebrating its anniversary this month with specials.
Beginning as a small butcher shop in 1979, Perry’s has grown into a group of award-winning restaurants specializing in a Rare and Well Done® experience, featuring USDA Prime beef, tableside carvings, signature selections, flamed desserts and handcrafted cocktails at its Bar 79.
Through July 31 (dine-in on Mondays through Thursdays, 4 p.m.-closing), Perry’s will offer four courses for $44. Starters include your choice of pork chop bites and steak-and-tater totter bites, among others; soup or salad; entree options of Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, char-grilled salmon, chicken Oscar, vegan skillet chopped steak and filet mignon (the latter for $20 extra); and desserts such as orange vanilla cream cheesecake and the chocolate crunch tower. Perry’s is also offering a pork chop anniversary bundle for $109 (at Perry’s online market) and a tasting wine flight of three two-ounce pours for $17.
—Lemon mellow: Lemon, 1600 W. Grand Ave., now has an “After Hour.”
It’s a late-night happy hour featuring industry deals and dessert cocktails like the venue’s famous Carajillo with Licor 43 and Los Magos Sotol, as well as some of its originals like the Port Flip and Stanky Boix Sundae made with Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. In addition, all cocktails are $10 each at 9-11 p.m., plus there are $5 beer-shot combos as well as discounted sherry and amaro pours. Entry is free.
—I’ll drink to that: As part of Chateau Carbide’s cocktail series this summer, the Pendry, 230 N. Michigan Ave., is welcoming the bar talent behind The Meadowlark (World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, No. 32) on Thursday, July 11, 5-10 p.m.
Led by Beverage Director (and former The Violet Hour alum) Abe Vucekovich, the bar’s takeover at Chateau Carbide will present drinks from all three of The Meadowlark’s menus, including “Field Guide Vol. 1: Birds of the Midwest,” “The Magic City” and its latest creation, “Composition Book Vol. 1: Childhood Activities for Grown-Ups.” Reservations are strongly encouraged; RSVP at this link.
—A matter of Taste: Marina’s Bistro & Rum Bar is bringing a Taste of Puerto Rico to Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood on Wed., July 17.
Dinner, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., will consist of a mix of existing and new menu items. Marina’s Bistro currently serves chuleta fritas; authentic mofongo with your choice of meat; pollo al ajillo, and starters, fresh salads and desserts.

—Roe with the flow: There are at least a couple restaurants celebrating National Caviar Day on July 18.
Heritage Restaurant & Caviar Bar, 2700 W. Chicago Ave., will actually hold a week (July 15-22)—called “Caviar-a-Palooza”—to celebrate. Throughout July, the place will celebrate Uruguayan Constitution Day and honor Polanco Farm and Uruguay’s journey to freedom. And at Brindille, 534 N. Clark St., people can indulge in a caviar menu paired with Champagne (with half off for the second glass). There will also be a service of 30 grams sturgeon caviar, sustainably raised crumpets and brioche, quail eggs, crème fraiche and chives. Sounds delish, no?
—An Apple (TV+) a day: Apple TV+ announced the premiere date of the new documentary series Omnivore, set to debut globally on July 19. Created and narrated by Rene Redzepi—the chef and co-owner of world-renowned restaurant Noma—the series “takes viewers on an immersive journey into the world of food, exploring the profound beauty and intricate complexities of the human experience through the lens of the key ingredients that connect us all,” according to a press release.
