The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the USA’s largest advocacy group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights, has become a global sponsor for Gay Games VII in Chicago. ‘People say that the fight for equality is a marathon. The Gay Games brings that to life,’ said Joe Solmonese, HRC President. ‘Our goal is equality. Like any athlete knows, the harder you work, the closer you are to reaching your objective. As we look back at our progress since the 1994 New York Gay Games, we mark the return of the games to the United States with an even stronger commitment to the future fight. HRC is proud to play a partner role in helping the Gay Games change the world for the better.’

‘Our partnership with the 2006 Chicago Games will include cross-promotional opportunities, discounts for HRC members to participate as athletes and cultural performers, and cooperative events both in advance and during the Gay Games,’ said Cathy Nelson, HRC’s Vice President for Development and Membership.
