Tjam Corporation has purchased the old ‘Glenway Inn’ building at 1401 W. Devon. The building had been totally renovated to open as ‘The Scarlet Room’ until owner illness forced it back on the market. It has already passed City health inspection.
Jody Andres, owner of Tomboy and The Room, put together Tjam Corporation which includes herself, her partner Amy Matheny (co-host of Windy City Radio), Terrance Flannery and renowned pianist Michael Feinstein to purchase the building. The restaurant seats 150 people, and has 21 gated-parking spots. A name has not yet been selected. Andres said that they expect to be open in Mid-April for dinner and lunch in mid-May.
Feinstein is expected to attend special events at the location, and play there from time to time.
