This year, the Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival will take place Aug. 5-10 in Walhalla, Mich.—and will include 40 performances; a film festival; an artisan/craft show; and a full roster of workshops, parties and dances.
Among the slated performances are The Vagina Monologues, directed by Alix Olson and featuring Elvira Kurt, Marga Gomez, Staceyann Chin, Olson and special guests; the alternative band BETTY; Toshi Reagon and BIGlovely; Holly Near; comedian Poppy Champlin; Ferron and Bitch; and rock quintet Antigone Rising.
Other scheduled activities include child-care camps; dance parties; and workshops about archery, sex, breast-casting, yoga and many other topics.
