Effective Jan. 1, 2001, CNA active employees will have the opportunity to cover eligible same-gender domestic partners under CNA’s Health and Group Benefits Plan—Medical, Dependent Life, Dental and Vision, according a June 14 Corporate Human Resources memo sent to employees of one of the largest insurance companies in the world. The memo says the company, with a huge base in Chicago, studied partner benefits, taking into consideration input from their employees. It also analyzed the legislation and what their competitors and other companies are doing.
