Connie Howard), Michael Land (Ald. Joe Moore). Priya Bhatia of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin’s office also attended. Supporters of the Center including board members and 5th district Congressional candidate Rahm Emanuel were also in attendance. Sean Smith of Howard Brown said, “We were very pleased to see so many friends of the LGBT community and advocates for LGBT health and HIV/AIDS. The legislators and staff were all very engaged in discussing the health and wellness issues of the LGBT community, as well as the community at large. It’s very helpful to have such good friends in Washington, in Springfield, in City Hall, and on the County Board. I was sorry Sara Feigenholtz couldn’t make it due to illness. The people that attended, sent staff, or called to regret are the ones championing our issues on all levels of government. We had legislators of diverse backgrounds, from all over the Chicago area, and of both parties. It was a wonderful event.”
