Late Nite Catechism has caught on fire like a sinner in Purgatory. So get set to laugh your sins off when Chicago’s longest-running Catholic comedy makes its debut at the Metropolis Performing Art Centre, 111 W. Campbell St. in downtown Arlington Heights, in a special limited engagement, May 8-18. Tickets are $30. Call (847) 577-2121 or see www.metropolisarts.com.

Join the class as Sister takes you back to the days of Latin Mass, meatless Fridays and that good old ruler across the knuckles! Celebrating its 11th year in Chicago, Late Nite Catechism is part catechism class, part stand-up routine, part interactive comedy. Its creators, Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan, with director Marc Silvia, conceived Late Nite Catechism based on their experiences growing up Catholic in Chicago, and the stories and experiences they had heard through the years from friends and family.

Late Nite and Metropolis are raising awareness and funds for the Arlington Heights-based Sisters of the Living Word. The Sisters are within just $2,000 of raising a necessary $15,000 in donations, to obtain a matching grant which will allow them to purchase a handicapped accessible van needed to serve the group’s elderly sisters. Metropolis will collect donations throughout the run of Late Night Catechism.
