C. Frederick Snider, 67, died July 9 at Illinois Masonic Hospital. Born Nov. 2, 1935 in Walnut, Ill., to Cecil and Helen (nee Fulton) Snider, Fred graduated from Walnut H.S. as the Class of 1953 Valedictorian. A Phi Beta Kappa (B.A. in History) from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., he pursued graduate studies at Western Illinois and Northwestern universities. A Marine Corp officer (1961-’64), Fred did one tour of duty in Japan. He was a former teacher in Illinois and in England, then an employee of the Veterans Administration and the EPA.
Fred enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and reading.
Preceding him in death are is parents and his sister Jo Ann Bridge. Survivors include his brother Dennis (Marilynn) of Chicago and their children Mark, Anne, Mary Jo, Teresa and Rebecca; also nephews Tracy and Greg Bridge; niece Bonnie Bridge Orris and other friends and relatives.
