Congregation or Chadash, the city’s only GLBT synagogue, is now at Emanuel Congregation, 5959 N. Sheridan. Or Chadash began holding regular services at Emanuel Jan. 2, 10 a.m., followed by Friday services for the remainder of January.
Rabbi Larry Edwards has agreed to serve as the group’s second permanent Rabbi. Or Chadash will celebrate both of these milestones with a dedicatory service Friday, Jan. 23, 8 p.m. Edwards, who has served as Interim Rabbi since July, will lead the service, along with cantorial soloist Judith Golden.
For 23 years, Or Chadash shared a space with Second Unitarian Church on Barry.
