Both hair and hemlines were short in the Roaring Twenties, that age of bathtub gin, gangsters, flappers, and liberated women, all of which will be on display in the dazzlingly affectionate musical parody, Thoroughly Modern Millie. The multiple Tony Award winning show, co-produced on Broadway by Chicagoan Michael Leavitt, comes to the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre Feb. 17-29. If they do this show right, you should see tons of sequins and lots of panties. Best of all, this touring company has Grand Chicago Diva Hollis Resnik co-starring as the evil Mrs. Meers.
