Alissa Norby, 18, recently graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School and has been involved in organizations such as the YMCA, People To People, The Jewish Community Center, and the Human Rights Campaign. However, it was the ‘gay? fine by me’ T-shirt campaign she helped start (along with Myka Held and others) that warrants Alissa an honorable mention. In an interview with Windy City Times, she detailed how tense the situation became on the day that she and fellow supporters wore their shirts.
DID YOU KNOW? Next fall, Alissa probably will not have to worry about those Flossmoor students; she will be attending college in Massachusetts.
