Victory Gardens Theater will give Chicago a sneak peek at the new, $11.3 million theater at the Biograph, 2433 N. Lincoln, at a weekend-long free community celebration and open house on Sept. 9-10, 12-5 p.m.
Visitors will be able to sit inside Victory Gardens’ new 299-seat mainstage, part of the soon to be completed gut rehab of the famous Chicago landmark. People will also be able to tour Victory Gardens’ new backstage facilities.
Other open house activities will include sneak-peek scenes from the theater’s inaugural season at the Biograph (which Charles Smith’s Denmark—based on the controversial life of freed slave Denmark Vesey—will be part of, among others), live music and even a touch tour for visually impaired individuals.
