3 Needles, which recently premiered in Chicago at the Reeling gay film festival, returns for a theatrical engagement beginning this Friday, Dec. 1, which is World AIDS Day. The movie tells three separate and refreshingly original, though decidedly downbeat, stories of the devastation that the AIDS pandemic continues to wreak chaos worldwide. The memorable stories, set in China, Canada and South Africa, are each narrated by Olympia Dukakis, who also appears in the final section of the movie (here with Chloe Sevigny).
