Oracle Productions will produce Jeffrey Hatcher’s Scotland Road at its intimate storefront space, Oracle Theatre, located at 3809 N. Broadway.
Inspired by an actual tabloid headline seen by Hatcher, the play begins when a fishing trawler picks up a young woman floating on an iceberg off the coast of Iceland. When asked where she comes from, the only word she whispers is, ‘Titanic.’ John, a man consumed with the 95-year-old tragedy, brings this woman and her caretaker, Dr. Halbrech, to an observation room. To save his own sanity, he must expose the elaborate hoax this mysterious subject—or is it really a hoax?
Scotland Road will run April 19-May 27. Admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Call 773-244-2980 or see www.oracletheatre.org.
