Windy City Black Pride 2007 will take place June 28-July 4, with many different activities—both educational and social—planned.
According to its Web site, the mission is ‘to build awareness of and pride in our diverse LGBT community.’
Among the events planned are an all-day extravaganza on June 30 at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s (IIT’s) Hermann Hall, 3241 S. Federal, that will include workshops and a vendor fair; a festival on July 1 at Sherman Park, 5440 S. Racine, that will be 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; and several parties, including a July 2 party with Mz. Ruffy at Circuit, 3641 N. Halsted, and the all-female ‘White Party 2007’ on June 30 at the Park West, 322 W. Armitage. There will also be the Curiosity Youth Jam at IIT, 32nd and State, on June 30, 7-11 p.m. (Admission to the last event is $5 if attendees come alone and $2 if they bring friends.)
