A Steady Rain, the tough two-character cop drama by Chicago author Keith Huff, has been brought back for a commercial run at the Royal George Theatre. Under director Russ Tutterow, both the play and performances are better than the first time around with actors Randy Steinmeyer and Peter DeFaria as best buddies and patrol-car partners. The New York-based producers have big plans for A Steady Rain including productions in New York, London and Los Angeles and a film version. Catch the original Chicago actors in this gut-wrenching 90-minute tale of good and evil, of good cop and bad cop. Through April 27, Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted; 312-988-9000; $35-$45.
