Bombs Away!, Bailiwick Repertory at Mary’s Attic, through July 18. More than just a Forbidden Broadway knock-off, the satire in this irreverent revue of original Great White Way parodies can cut to the bone while never leaving a scar. MSB

The History Boys, TimeLine Theatre, through Sept. 27. Two teachers duel over eight bright British boys bound for Oxford or Cambridge in this dazzling examination of education with a strong gay subplot. Extended yet again, maybe you can score some rare tickets. Do try! JA

Poseidon: An Upside Down Musical, Hell in a Handbag Productions at Chopin Theatre, through July 26. This hilarious camp comedy does capsize when shifting from movie spoof to the film’s obsessive fans. Yet those moments are rare in this silly musical revised revival that both edifyies and eviscerates the classic 1972 disaster flick The Poseidon Adventure. SCM

Sodomites!!! A Musical of Biblical Proportions, Annoyance Theatre, through July 31. It’s a charmingly sacrilegious show that sharply (and hilariously) questions why an arcane and bizarre biblical story holds so much sway in justifying discrimination against the LGTBQ community. SCM
