Rev. Bonnie Perry—rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, 4550 N. Hermitage, and a lesbian in a committed relationship—is one of three nominees for bishop of Minnesota, according to the Chicago Tribune.

On the church’s Web site, Perry stated, “I am thankful for the invitation to continue in mutual discernment with the people of the Diocese of Minnesota and I am honored to be in the company of my fellow nominees.

“As we all continue to discern God’s call, I pray that we will bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ that changes people’s lives and proclaims the profound inclusivity and hospitality of God.

“Please keep Susan and me, the people of the Diocese of Minnesota, and All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Chicago, in your prayers.”

Rev. Susan Harlow, Perry’s partner of more than two decades, is director of congregational development and professor of practical theology at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, 2122 Sheridan, Evanston.
