The Addams Family, Ford Center/Oriental Theatre, through Jan. 10.
Critics can’t see it until Dec. 9, but you can. With Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth respectively as Gomez and Morticia and a creative team headed by vets of Jersey Boys and Shockheaded Peter, how wrong can ya go? JA
Carnival Nocturne, Silent Theatre at The Storefront, through Dec. 20. The exquisite visual imagery in this darkly romantic fairy tale—rendered smaller than Nutcrackers or Carols in both physical dimension and ticket price—is so intricately detailed that a single viewing is barely enough to scope it all out. MSB
Dr. Harlon’s Keys to Better Living, Royal George Theatre Gallery, through Dec. 15. Portraying half a dozen or so all-American nut jobs, Will Clinger puts his gloriously goofy comedic persona to use with an alternately eccentric and hilarious spoof on the self-help movement. Would that all PowerPoint presentations were this entertaining. CS
When She Danced, TimeLine Theatre, through Dec. 20. Jennifer Engstrom may never dance as the modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan, but you get a sense of why her vivacious personality attracted such an international cortege of fans and followers in this enthralling production. SCM
