Aida, Bailiwick Chicago at American Theater Company, through Aug. 1. The rechristened Bailiwick continues its comeback with the best production of Sir Elton John and Sir Tim Rice’s 2000 musical that you’re likely to ever see. There’s no transfer house promising an extension, so this is your last chance to see it. MSB
Fucking Men, Bailiwick Chicago at Stage 773, through Aug. 8. Director Tom Mullen extracts strong, nuanced performances from his all-male cast in this contemporary daisy-chain mating dance based upon Arthur Schnitzler’s sexually-frank 1897 hetero original. JA
The Philadelphia Story, Circle Theatre in Forest Park, through Sept. 5. The gender inequities in Phillip Barry’s classic screwball comedy may be cringeworthy, but Circle’s production is so handsomely designed that you’ll be likely to let these outdated elements slide.
Sweet & Hot: The Songs of Harold Arlen, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre at No Exit Café, through Aug. 15. Theo Ubique does Arlen right in this beautifully sung and wonderfully intimate revue. SCM
