Sharon Gless will be appearing on stage in a new production of Jane Prowse’s adaptation of Jane Juska’s book A Round-Heeled Woman. Directed by Jane Prowse, the production will take place Dec 30, 2010 through Jan 30, 2011 at GableStage Theatre, Miami, Florida.
The play is inspired by Eric Rohmer’s film Autumn Tale and by Jane Juska, a smart, energetic older woman who decided she’d been celibate too long. Juska placed a personal ad in The New York Review of Books: ‘Before I turn 67 – next March – I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like. If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me …’.
The play is the story of Juska’s sabbatical from teaching, meetings and adventures with some of the men who replied.
Tickets are still available through the GableStage Box Office www.gablestage.org/ .
