If you’ve never seen Lerner and Loewe’s classic 1947 Broadway musical Brigadoon about two New Yorkers who stumble upon a magical Scottish village, then don’t miss Light Opera Works new production. As always, Light Opera Works features a full orchestra to do justice to such song standards like “Heather on a Hill” and “Almost Like Being in Love” (though try not to snicker too much during the romantic ballad “Come to Me, Bend to Me”). Light Opera Works’ Brigadoon plays six performances only at Northwestern University’s Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson, Evanston. Performances are at 8 p.m. June 4, 10 and 11, with 2 p.m. matinees June 5, 8 and 12. Tickets are $32-$92; call 847-869-6300 or visit www.lightoperaworks.com. Photo courtesy of the company
