Fans of the late composer/lyricist Jonathan Larson are sure to get their fix now in Chicago. The About Face Theatre and American Theater Company’s production of Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent is up and running, as is Porchlight Music Theatre’s production of tick, tick… BOOM!, a much more personal and semi-autobiographical musical exploring an artist’s concerns and fears as he approaches his 30th birthday.
Porchlight Music Theatre’s tick, tick… BOOM! continues through Sunday, June 10, at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 8 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. An extra performance is at 10 p.m. Friday, June 1. Tickets are $38 with student and group discounts available; call 773-327-5252 or visit www.porchlightmusictheatre.org. Photo by Jeremy Rill
