Market Days brings thousands to sunny Halsted St.

The Northalsted Market Days celebration ran over the weekend of August 11 and 12 to crowds of more than 100,000 attendees. This annual fundraiser for Halsted Street covers six city blocks and is one of the biggest street festivals in the country.

Vendors from Raw Candles to Equality Illinois filled the booths. Meat on a stick and sangria were on hand with shirtless men packed for dance stages near the center of the festival.

The Chicago weather kept things mild and there were only a few sprinkles to be found on Sunday.

With musical acts such as Sheena Easton, The Pointer Sisters and Olivia Newton-John, many fans returned to their ’80s roots and danced in the streets all weekend. Visit www.northalsted.com for more information on the community.
